Emily Nields is a watercolor artist currently practicing in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She earned her degree in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM from Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia. She briefly worked in the jewelry industry before deciding to transition into education, a choice that significantly shaped her artistic journey. Teaching children has been endlessly inspiring and has influenced her growth as an artist. Much of her artwork draws from the enchanting folk and fairy tales that captivate her students’ imaginations, which continues to motivate her creative process. Emily aspires to create her own series of reimagined stories, aiming to inspire young artists just as she was inspired in her own journey.
"My creations draw from familiar folktales or mythology, which I interpret through representational watercolor portraits to present my own reimagined narrative. I purposefully choose a limited color palette to convey the emotions or relationships of my subjects, inviting viewers to weave their own stories inspired by their personal connections to the colors and intricate details expressed in each piece."
